So, Five Minute Friday turned into almost Fifty Minute Friday today. Don’t you just love interruptions? When I saw the topic this week, I knew there was only one person I could write about. Read on and you’ll see why…..
If I look far enough back, I might have memories before I had her friendship, but they’d be hard to find. She has been there since preschool and dance classes and GA’s and youth choir and high school and college applications, through parents’ divorces and her wedding, at which I did the ugly cry. All day long.
She was a long talk long distance all the way from Africa and someone who would tell me why she married the man she did when I was wondering about the one for me.
Together, we’ve been beach-ball belly pregnant in the heat of Katrina’s aftermath and held hands as she bravely faced her son’s birth while still waiting for word from her family.
Encouraging my dreams and embracing my kids. Loving me the way I was and the way I am….and all the while reminding me of the One who loved me first.

What a friend…you can tell by how you wrote it. Thank you for sharing about your friend! I have one like that and I can’t believe I am blessed to know her (Viviane).
