We live in a world where a lot of bad things happen.  We live in a world where people do a lot of bad things.

The question you’ll hear from many who hurt is, “If God is good, why would he….”

And, it’s a hard question to answer sometimes.

Sometimes our hearts cannot reconcile the fact that God CAN do something with the fact that he DOESN’T.

And we doubt his goodness.

I want you to understand something very important.

Every bad thing that happens on this earth has one source.

SIN.

The choice of human beings to go their own way and do their own thing has resulted in the fact that this world is not perfect, and neither are we.

I’ve lost friends to accidents God could have prevented.  I watched a mother waste away week by week with cancer when God could have healed her body.

But he didn’t.

The circumstances tempt us to question the goodness of God, but his word reminds us of this:

The goodness of God is revealed by the way he redeems, making beautiful things from those that are painful.

Only he can do that!

God can take death and bring life.

Just like he did with Christ on the cross.

His goodness is revealed in the way we chose sin so he sent a savior.

Nothing that happens changes who he is.  And, he is good.

That’s why:

“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

The things happening to you or around you might be bad, but God can use them for good.

Because he is.

All the time.

Love this, and so true. God IS good, ALL the time! Something that is easy to forget in the midst of life’s difficulties, but something we should never forget. Something we can cling to even when we don’t have the answers.
