Soap. We’re almost out of it. We need more for bathing, more for dish washing and more for laundry. We always need more. Especially with a house full of little ones who like to play in dirt and eat chocolate. We’re always washing something around here.
And, we’re not the only ones. All over the world people need soap. And, our women in Kenya (you know the ones, right? the ones I’ve been talking about for months?), well, they’ve been meeting together, crafting together and dreaming together…and, they’ve come up with a plan. A business plan. A plan to improve their lives and the lives of those around them. And, it involves soap.
Such a little thing. But, with the Lord’s help and these women’s hands, it will have a big impact.
They’re going to start making soap. Beautiful, handcrafted, natural soap. Soap they can sell in the markets right where they are.
Their line of soaps will be called “Adia,” which means “gift” in Kiswahili. This soap will give them the gift of opportunity. Opportunity for increased financial stability, opportunity for education, opportunity to improve their lives.
Will you help them?
You can be part of their work by supporting the Tuleane Soap-Making Project on PureCharity.com. PureCharity is a great tool for nonprofits like Merchant Ship Ministries because you can download their plugin and earn giving funds while you shop online! Then, you can donate that money to a charity or project of your choice. Join PureCharity and help us out!
And, just like the soap is a little thing with a big impact, any gift (no matter how small) will have a big impact on these women’s lives. So, would you consider supporting our project?
I know 12 women who couldn’t thank you enough. (I’m one of them.)
