Tuesday’s Tip: Almost Effortless Petit Fours

It’s time for me to make a confession (or a series of them)….I like to look at petit fours.  I like to eat petit fours.  I even like to make petit fours.  I didn’t always, but that was before I learned a little something about Sara Lee….

Her pound cake is perfect for petit fours.  Don’t judge me.  It’s true.

When you have a baby crying and an older child trying to “help,” Sara is a lifesaver.  Her pound cake is quick and easy to use, but it’s more than that.  You see, if you’ll pull that cake out of the freezer and let it thaw just enough to slice.  It will be the perfect texture for cutting into cute little shapes.  There are hardly no crumbs to combat.  You can make the slices as thick (or thin!) as you like…meaning, with very little effort you can make very little cakes!

Perfect for a little princess’ pink tea party, or….

A going to Africa prayer tea for a friend, or…..Christmas!  Think of all the cute shapes in red and green…And, if you’re having guests, I promise they’ll be impressed.

Note:  The Christmas tree petit fours at the top were made before I tried this trick. If you look closely, you’ll see that they were much bumpier looking.  The glaze just goes so smoothly over the Sara Lee Pound Cake…it’s wonderful.  Oh, and if I can find my glaze recipe, I’ll post it…but any will do.

Almost Effortless Petit Fours use Sara Lee Pound Cake for the perfect, EASY, way to make beautiful petit fours!

Disclaimer:  Sara Lee does not know me.  I know her too well.  It’s definitely a one-sided relationship.  Sara Lee did not compensate me for praising her cake so highly.  Her cake, however, compensated my hips.  Feel free to try other brands of cake…I’m just telling you what works for me.

These Petit Fours are so cute, and easy—two of my favorite things. I look forward to making them. Thank you for sharing at Create Link Inspire Party.
