12 Days of Christmas: Twiggy Tree Ornament

TwiggyTreeOrnament

On the second day of Christmas….

We made Twiggy Tree Christmas Ornaments.

I thought they turned out really cute, but my favorite part of this craft was the fact that my kids spent an hour or so outside playing together, trying to find the perfect twigs for the project.

Anyone else needing to occupy kids for a while during the holidays?  Just me?  Oh well.

To make the trees, we just tied various ribbons to each twig then trimmed them to form the shape of a tree.  For the hangers, I stuck a piece of wire into the top of the twig and folded it over to make a hook.  (There’s probably a better way, but this craft was meant to be quick and easy…and it was!)

I think they look lovely on our tree….what do you think?

My original inspiration for this craft was the picture I saw here.  Cute, right?  We added fewer ribbons and no twine, and I really like the simplicity of the ornaments.

Remember to keep checking back for more 12 Days of Christmas with Kids Cooking and Crafts….we’re having fun creating them, and I hope you will, too.

Enjoy!
