Cream Cheese Sausage Balls without Bisquick are the perfect appetizer for game day parties, holiday brunches or family breakfasts. They’re also really easy to make and absolutely delicious!
Sausage Balls are a quick and easy appetizer that almost everybody loves, but if you’re like me, you don’t keep Bisquick on hand. I seldom have it in my pantry, and to be honest, I prefer to make things from scratch when I can.
Because I might not have Bisquick, but I almost always have flour and baking powder, you know?
Making Cream Cheese Sausage Balls without Bisquick is really easy and only takes a few more minutes than making them from the mix.
Oh, and if you’ve ever only made regular sausage balls without cream cheese, let me urge you to try these! I’d never made sausage balls with cream cheese until recently and was amazed how much more moist and flavorful these are. Try them!

- 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder

- 1 tbsp. Shortening
- 1 lb. Ground Sausage (Using hot sausage adds more flavor, but I have made this recipe with mild, regular and hot – all will work!)

How to Make Cream Cheese Sausage Balls without Bisquick
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Add shredded cheddar cheese and mix well.
Form into ball and bake on un-greased pan until golden brown, about 20 – 25 minutes.
Enjoy!
