Yesterday, my kids brought me the first of spring’s daffodils. Little bits of sunlight sitting in my windowsill now. My family spent the afternoon outside together, and it was heavenly. Warm and glowing and relaxed.
It’s been a while, and I’d forgotten how much we need it. How much I need it.
The ability to breath in fresh air, feel sunshine on my face and the wind in my hair, to stretch legs and arms and bask in the beauty that is all around us. Without freezing.
Is anyone else very ready to welcome spring?
I intend to savor spring because here in Mississippi it slips by faster than you realize. Gentle breezes will give way to summer’s heat and horrid humidity before we’ve had the chance to enjoy them. So, we will walk and gather leaves and flowers and butterflies. And enjoy the green that pushes up through brown, even more vibrant because of the dull that surrounds it. And, it looks like my soul feels.
Refreshed.
