Wow. It’s been a week. In fact, yesterday was a week all in itself. Just ask my friend who hosted the most fun, most lovely and most injury-laden Easter Egg Hunt ever. Seriously. We came away with a bruised leg on one child and a split upper lip on the other. Thankfully, the fish food pellet was successfully extracted from someone else’s child’s ear. Still, we had fun. We certainly did. And we definitely made memories. And, despite the blood and the bruises, they are good.
Which kind of fits this day, right? Because I tend to get very somber during Holy Week, as I’m reminded of the price that was paid for me. And, the fact that my own sin required it. And I shudder at the shame, and the pain. Then I lift my head….because I can. Because of Him, I can. And that is what makes this Friday good.
(I wrote the above as part of Five Minute Friday with The Gypsy Mama…though to be honest, it took me more than five minutes because I had to keep getting up to change diapers, help kids, spell words like “pink” and “purple” and do other motherly tasks…oh well. The actual writing was about five-minutes and is rather unedited. So there.)

Wow, the kids that participated in that Easter Egg Hunt must be hard-core, competitive hunters! 🙂
Have you seen the commercial where mom buys supplies for the Easter Egg Hunt, including running shoes so her child would have the advantage? It’s kind of funny and your post reminded me of that.
Glad everyone is (mostly) ok!

Amen to that! I love Holy Week because of Sunday. It is good to meditate on our part in His pain and that he did it of his own free will for us on Friday and rejoice in the resurrection on Sunday.
