I’ll be honest. Some days I get so tired of making decisions. What to cook for breakfast, what to make for lunch, who gets to choose the movie, how many cookies you can eat….it’s exhausting, and those are just the little things.
What about the decisions of how to discipline our kids? Or decisions about finances? Or careers? Or elderly parents?
What we need is wisdom.
Lots of it.
So many times I just struggle through the day, making decisions on the fly because I haven’t stopped to ask for direction.
It’s like when my daughter does her work incorrectly because she just doesn’t want to ask for help. We have to go back, rework and come at her assignment in the right way to move forward.
It wastes time and energy, and it doesn’t have to.
I’m the same way. If I would seek the Lord and ask him for guidance, he would give it, and I would spend less time and effort on the wrong things.
He knows better than I do how to train my children.
He can manage our money because he knows our needs before we have them.
He is the one who opens doors and directs our steps.
The path ahead of you might not be glaring with neon direction signs, but he can illuminate each step you should take.
So ask him.
He will answer.
Psalm 25:12 says, “Who, then, is the one who fears the Lord? He will instruct them in the way they should choose.”
I’d love to hear how you’ve been encouraged through the Word this week! Either share a link or a verse in the comments!
