I’ve been quiet on the blog because I took a little trip…to Kenya! It was short and quick and full of opportunities to see how a little bit of opportunity goes a long way. I saw women excited about the business plans they have. I met with dreamers. Seriously, these women dream big. I spoke with person after person who wanted to be a part of helping women in Kenya, and I wondered….
Do you?
Do you want to be part of helping a woman a world away find a way to feed her family? Do you want to be part of changing communities through empowering women to provide for themselves? Do you want women in Kenya to feel the love of Christ in a very real way?
If you do, and you’re able, would you please be part of our Mother’s Day Dash this year? You can run. You can walk. You can crawl if you like. But, could you participate? It’s an opportunity to honor mothers and help others, and everyone is invited! Men, women, children…the entire family can be part of the race and part of what God is doing in Kenya.
Here’s a little more information:

What is the Mother’s Day Dash?
The Mother’s Day Dash is a 5K Trail Run and Walk that honors moms by helping provide economic development and skills training to women in Kenya through a local non-profit called Merchant Ship Ministries. Everyone is invited to participate, and all awards will be items handcrafted in Kenya, with special awards going to the first mother, grandmother and stroller to cross the finish line. In addition, there will be a one mile fun run and a tot trot. All tot trot participants will receive a special prize, as well as all mothers and grandmothers who participate in the 5K. It’s a fun event for the whole family!
Every mom who participates will receive a little something special, too!
When and where is the Mother’s Day Dash?
The race will be held Saturday, May 10 at the SCA cross country course in Magee, MS.
