I use a lot of words, always have. In fact, when I spent a weekend being interviewed for the missions sending agency I worked with after college, one of the trainers did an exercise in which he observed the communication of our group. When the exercise was over he said, “So-and-so, you spoke the most often, but Charlie used the most words.”
What can I say? I work things out with words.
I just don’t want those words to be empty. Or worse, wrong, hurtful, harmful.
Because what I say reflects what’s in my heart, and my heart should be the home of holiness.

And, that scares me sometimes because when I listen to my words, I realize my heart must not reflect his.
It’s why we must strive to tame our tongues and continually turn to the only one who can completely control them.
