I remember looking at precious gemstones at a store in Kenya once. They ranged in price based on the quality and the rarity of the stones. Sometimes, a smaller Tsavorite stone was worth a great deal more than a larger stone of some other kind. They’re just harder to find.

It’s not difficult to find people who want to talk, is it? Just turn on the television, and you’ll be flooded with opportunities to listen to the opinions of all sorts of people. Don’t have TV? That’s what blogs are for, right? The internet is inundated with information and people who want to share it.

But how many of the voices that we hear speak knowledge, spread wisdom?

Proverbs 20:15 says, “Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.”

Just like little pieces of Tsavorite, when we find people who speak words of wisdom, we need to treasure them.

They’re hard to come by and worth the effort.
