“For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction,” right?
And not just in physics, you know?
When we seek, we find. When we sow, we reap.
There’s no denying it though sometimes we try to deny what it is we are actually seeking and sowing so that we can be surprised by what we find and reap.
Proverbs 21 has a good bit to say about that.
“Whoever loves pleasure will become poor…” (verse 17)
“Whoever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich…” (verse 17)
“The cravings of a sluggard will be the death of him….” (verse 25)
“The plans of the diligent lead to profit…” (verse 6)
“Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.” (verse 21)
You see, how we spend our time and energy and money directly affects the outcome of events and circumstances in our lives.
We can live wisely and reap the benefits or we can sow haphazardly and miss the harvest.
