Being a mother has helped me overcome one of my biggest fears: vomit. I’m just being real here. I hate it. Oh, I know you’re thinking, “Everyone hates it.” But, I can almost always will myself not to get sick. Lived in Africa for two years, might have gotten sick once. Three pregnancies, and I never really knew morning sickness. In fact, one of the only things that makes me sick is someone else being sick near me. So, when my baby got her first stomach virus (how we avoided it for five years I don’t know) and her first experience with being sick happened while she was lying with her head on my lap and I didn’t consequently get sick all over her head, I realized just how much motherhood changes you.
