Yes, I know that today is Friday. I’m behind. An unexpected trip to the children’s clinic will do that to you. Don’t worry. They’re fine. It’s a virus. Isn’t it always a virus? Sometimes I think doctors just say that because they truly have no idea why your child is sick, but they suspect she’ll be better in a day or two. Of course, by then, she’ll be sick with whatever germs she picked up at the clinic. Tell me this, if you can, why do doctors’ offices put out colorful toys and books that just beg little, sick hands to touch them? I’m thinking it keeps them in business.
Okay, enough of my random thoughts and on to more important matters.
Today’s featured artisan is a mom, too. Her name is Nancy, and she is one talented lady. She lives in Nairobi, Kenya, and I’m pretty convinced there’s not much she can’t do. She crochets, sews, does graphic design, and makes lovely, little things like these:
So, today’s photography leaves a lot to be desired. Sorry. Let me tell you a bit about this headband. First, Nancy crocheted a lovely flower out of dark pink satin ribbon, then she attached a beautiful brooch, and finally adhered it to a black headband. It’s precious!
Currently, Nancy is working to send a small shipment of these handcrafted headbands, but you can get the black and pink one above here.
And, don’t worry, I’ll let you know when the new ones arrive…they’ll be perfect for holiday dresses!
