I can’t believe it has taken me this long to stumble upon such a helpful trick! I mean, when it came time to make purse straps or whatever, I would do almost anything to avoid having to turn a fabric tube inside out…including using twice the fabric called for so I could just fold things over and sew them down.
No more! Thanks to Pinterest and a tutorial I found there, I have the perfect solution! And, now, you do, too!
Here it is:
When you fold the fabric over and iron it flat, put a piece of ribbon in the fold. Stitch it down at end and extend it past the other. Be sure to keep it out of the seam allowance and sew away! When you get to the end of the tube, pull the string, and the tube will follow. When it’s turned completely right side out, trim the end, and you’re done. So simple! So fast! Love it!
