Always Learning…

I would love to think that one day I will “arrive.” You know, I’ll finally have it all together. I’ll know the things I need to know and do the things I need to do, and my tongue will finally be completely tame.

And, I’d love for this to happen before I get to heaven.

But….

I won’t.

I trust that by the power of the Spirit, I will be wiser.

But, there will always be room for more wisdom.

And, the wise are characterized by the fact they only get wiser.

Proverbs 9:9 says, “Instruct the wise, and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous, and they will add to their learning.”

You see, of course, I will never know and understand all the mysteries of God while I’m seeing dimly through the glass of the life, but as I walk with the Lord, I will know and understand more and more.

And, I absolutely love that. I love knowing that as long as I seek to know God and his ways, he will show them to me. As long as I live, I can learn.
