Back to School with Fruit of the Loom – Giveaway!

This post contains affiliate links to products mentioned. For more information, read my disclosure policy.

“Don’t you just love New York in the Fall?  It makes me want to buy school supplies.  I would send you a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.” (You’ve Got Mail)

Granted, this time of year, Mississippi probably has very little in common with New York in the Fall, but the steamy days  of  August do get me in the mood to buy school supplies.  I love them!  Always have.  When I see displays like these, I cannot help but want one of every kind of marker.

It’s true.  But, I don’t need them all.  Neither do my kids.  There are, however, some things they can’t do without.

schoolsupplies6

Socks might make a boring Christmas gift, but if your little boy is anything like mine, he needs as many white pairs as possible, which is why I love that Fruit of the Loom has bonus packs available at Wal-Mart.  Thanks to their “Underwear for Overachievers” Campaign and the bonus packs they have at Wal-Mart, I was able to stock up on socks for my son and tank tops for my daughter…as well as other supplies to get the school year off to a great start!

She was thrilled when she saw the pink tank top in the package.  And, the backpack.  Pink and sparkly?  She was sold.

By the way, I’m just wondering if anyone else feels like they are shopping in 1987 or something?  We got a bright pink backpack and neon pencils.  Neon everything, actually.

I would have used this in the 80s.  It would have matched my hi-tops.

Besides the pink tank, we love these because they are perfect for layering, and (like the 80s) layers are in.  At least among the eight-year-old girls I know.  These will be perfect with so many of her outfits this fall.

We enjoyed shopping for all the basics and a few fun things for Fall.  Fruit of the Loom‘s Underwear for Over-Achievers Campaign made it possible, and they’d like to do the same for you.  One of my readers will win a $75 gift card to Wal-Mart, provided by Fruit of the Loom.  Just use the widget below to enter the giveaway!

It might not be a “bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils,” but it’s definitely the next best thing, right?

Back to school for the husband! We had to buy new shoes and pants, as well as band camp supplies (including a gazillion mechanical pencils). Hope everyone is school ready!

I HATE school supply shopping, but mostly because I think the lists are so detailed and specific that it makes it complicated 🙁 I wish I had your enthusiasm.

Our kids are still young enough where they are not overly particular about what they wear. We let them pick out what they want, but “brand” was of zero importance.

I love buying school supplies because when you homeschool they can basically pick out the things they want. We don’t have to follow a list and I love that.

Our back to school shopping experience went quite well. The fact that a laptop for the one going to college made it quite an expensive trip, though!
