My husband and I have watched our fair share of Master Chef and Chopped, and we’ve noticed something….
It’s all about seasoning.
Nothing gets the thumbs down quicker than something that needs salt.
It brings out the best of the things around it, highlighting flavors and deepening delicate balances. Add some to your sweet treats, and you’ll see what I mean. Just a hint of salt can change the flavor profile of something entirely.
So can we.
As believers, we are the “salt of the earth.” Jesus said so.
Think about what that means.
It means we make it better, not boring. Salt livens up a dish, and so should we.
This world, with all its problems and perplexities, should be balanced by believers.
In despair, we dish out hope. In grief, joy. Because we know the source.
We know what makes life sweet, and we should add it in everywhere we go.
Sprinkle joy as you journey. Hand out hope. Help friends find faith.
Don’t leave the salt out of your surroundings.

Wow, we really were on the same page with this, weren’t we?
Well, I guess that’s a good sign, really, isn’t it: that our minds would run the same way as His? Blessings on your weekend!

Beautiful thoughts and so true! All of us need little life in our faith now and then. What a great reminder!

I love your thoughts here! My family and I also watch Master Chef and Chopped, and some of the other cooking shows. You’re right…salt, or lack of, is always one of the first things noticed. (We’re neighbors at Faith ‘n Friends)
Blessings,
Laura

Love this! We are chopped fans here too… and yes the salt is so necessary!
This is great, I used to do Five Minute Friday posts all the time, glad to see people are still writing for five minutes 😉
