Five Minute Friday: Song

5-minute-friday-1So, this week, I decided to participate in the Thursday night #fmfparty on Twitter.  Crazy!  I learned two things:  I don’t think or read fast enough to follow it, and five minutes goes really fast when you’re falling asleep. (So…short post follows.)  Five Minute Friday is a chance to write for five minutes flat and then encourage other writers who do the same.  Lisa-Jo hosts it, and you can visit her site to participate!

Go:

The rhythm of my days is usually the same.  Wake up, change diapers, feed babies, do dishes, wash, repeat….over and over again.  Sometimes it feels like trudging, but the truth is: each day I dance.

There is music all around me.  The singing might sound like something else.  A baby crying.  Little ones’ laughter.  Dogs barking and birds calling.  But the song is just the same.

It is joyous.  Even when I’m not.  It is full of love…even when I don’t feel it.  Because:

He will rejoice over me with singing.  He will quiet me with his love.

So, I dance to the music he makes in my life.  And, each day, at the end of it, all I can do is offer it back up to him.

“By day the Lord directs his love; at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.” -Psalm 42:8

Yes yes yes! He gives us a song in our hearts and we offer it back to Him in a beautiful act of worship. I love it.

It’s a gift to hear the song amidst all of the chaos sometimes. So thankful I stopped by from the Five Minute Friday!

I find this to be a blessing to my heart as i struggle with my children who are older while they are learning who they are and what they want in life and are no longer listening to me but trying to figure things out for themselves. I realize I have to let go and place my trust in their futures in the Lord and instead of singing a song of anger or frustration i need to give my praises for having my beautiful kids in the first place. I need to trust that their creator will not lead any of us wrong.

Oh! Another momma embraces her daysong with dance! Love this! Love that you are rejoicing in your time with the family – there is no greater joy than that – to pour in and watch the joy of the Lord fill the hearts of our home. He will reward your labor!
    Hugs,
    Kelly (stopping by from FMF)

A house filled with family is a house filled with song and dance. Beautiful!
