I guess we’ll start this series off with the start of your day and a promise that can motivate you every morning.
“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice….”
Y’all, do you hear that? He hears you.
You may wonder if anyone else does. You may know that they’re not listening. But he is.
So lay your requests before him. While you’re standing at the sink doing yesterday’s dishes. While you’re driving to work or dropping kids off at school. While you’re sipping lukewarm coffee that cooled before you could drink it. (Or is that just me?)
He’s listening. So talk to him.
I realize that many of you have people talking to you before you even open your eyes in the morning. It’s crazy. It’s hectic. It’s exhausting.
So stop, take a deep breath, and tell him so.
You don’t have to have the perfect place or a scheduled time. It doesn’t have to be quiet just because people call it a “quiet time.” He can hear you no matter how loud everything around you is.
Whisper your prayers as you scramble the eggs. Sing your praise as you carpool the kids. Ask him to help you as you help little hands.
He hears you when you do.
And do you know what else? He answers.
Expect him to; wait for it and watch. Face your day knowing he is faithful.
“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning, I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” Psalm 5:3

Loved this! (So much that I shared it on my Facebook page.) My favorite take away is that it doesn’t have to be quiet during my “quiet time” — which is good because one of my kids never. EVER. STOPS. talking to me. Ever. Thanks for this great reminder.

Hi! I found your post through a fb post shared by Sara Borgstede. Great reminder that we can pray anytime, anywhere and God will hear even if no one else does. My kids are grown, but I have grandchildren around a lot so I know how hard it is to find a “quiet” time. But even so we can still pray while there is noise all around.
I like your blog name. I’m originally from Mississippi, even though we moved away when I was 3.
