That seems to be my theme these days. With a three-year old and two almost toddling babes, things are getting crazy around here. And some days, just getting everyone loaded in the car counts as success, even when I forget where we were going in the first place.
So, I’ve kind of had to lower my expectations a bit. You know, that pesky pressure you put on yourself to be perfect? I’ve had to get real when it comes to some things….like birthday parties. Especially when I have to visit the children’s clinic twice in one day.
In my mind, I had planned a Pinterest-worthy party full of dino fun. And, the cupcake tower was going to be epic.
This is what we ended up with:
We did have Dinosaur nuggets, thanks to my mother-in-law who came to the rescue when EVERY single store I visited was out of them!
And, just like he requested, we hunted “dinosaur” eggs. And, do you know what he told me?
“I like my birthday!”
Imperfections and all, y’all.
And, by the way, the vegan cupcakes were a hit…and no one needed an epi-pen!
