Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas That Are NOT Toys

Watch your kids be excited to pull socks out of their stockings with these Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas that are NOT toys!

So, Christmas less than a week away, and I’m already tripping over toys everywhere I turn.  Seriously.  It doesn’t matter that most of the toys my twins have are hand-me-downs from their older sister.  They count.

So, I’m looking around the house thinking, “Who can we give THAT to?”  and “How can I get it out of the house without the kids noticing?”

Because Santa already has a closet full of gifts for this year. (Don’t judge.  Things add up fast when there are four of them.)

So, I’ve also been thinking about what they could receive as gifts that speak to their “FAVORITE” things without being toys.  You know, things they’ll still be excited to open on Christmas morning, but that they actually need.

They ALWAYS need clothes.

I mean, it’s like they’re growing or something.

Now, I should tell you that I’ve never been a big fan of character clothing.  In fact, my first child almost never wore it.  As I’ve had more children, I’ve outgrown that bit of snobbery and will pretty much let my kids where almost anything that covers them.  (I have two sisters who are dying to hear me say that and swearing they never will.  We’ll see…)

One of the reasons I’ve changed my tune is the simple fact that kids LOVE characters.  On their clothes.  On their beds.  Everywhere.  So, if you want to see their little eyes light up when they pull socks from their stockings, you’d better stick with the character kind.

The good news is that they don’t have to wear all Disney, all the time.  There are ways to fit their flights of fancy onto their clothing without branding them for life.  Here are a few suggestions:

Dinosaur Clothing & Accessories

First, my dino boy.  Finding clothes with dinosaurs is really easy.  Everybody loves dinosaurs, right?  I just fell in love with this shirt, which is good because right now, you can get 50% Off Entire Purchase at Gymboree.  Last minute shopping, anyone?

And to stuff that stocking:

And because boys are not the only one who like dinosaurs:

How cute is this?  Right now, it’s only $14.00.

Ballerina Clothing & Accessories

But, while I have two kids that would be crazy for anything dino, I have one who is all about ballerinas right now.  I mean, she’s obsessed.

There is also this adorable ballerina raincoat on Zulily.  My little dancer would die!

Kidorable Ballerina Coat

You can also order it on Amazon with free two-day shipping if you have a Prime Membership!

Super Hero Clothes & Accessories

You know how much little boys love their super heroes, right?  Well, they’ll love these clothes as much as they like their action figures.

My son would love this Superman shirt from Zulily.

His older sister would like these pajamas:

Princess Clothing & Accessories

I have two little girls who asked for tiaras for Christmas.  These things might just match them perfectly….

Emoji Clothing and Accessories

Emojis are all the rage so these items might come in handy, especially if you have a preteen.

So, those are some ideas for the things my kids are into this year.  What about yours?  What are the things they’re crazy about and what items do you look for to avoid MORE TOYS?  I’d love to hear your ideas!
