One of the things we usually do around here is make our own pizza. It’s much cheaper and healthier than ordering out, and it can be a lot of fun to make because kids love to add their own toppings, sprinkle the cheese, etc. I used to make the dough in my bread machine, letting it rise and then rolling it out, but then I happened to come across this recipe at AmysFinerThings.com, and we love it! It’s a no-rise recipe that uses whole wheat, which means that using this recipe, you can have pizza on the table in less than 30 minutes, and it’s delicious, too.
Toppings we love:
- Canadian Bacon or Ham with Pineapple (get the little tidbits and drain them…they’re perfect!)
- Turkey Pepperoni (in the photo above, we used the minis….kids like to sprinkle those as much as they like to sprinkle cheese!)
- Chicken, Banana Peppers and Barbeque Sauce
