Two weeks ago on Monday, I was here……
…missing my babies, but loving on these….
…and learning a whole lot about the ministry of His Cherished Ones. Y’all…you have to visit Trena’s blog. You just have to. The baby house in Nakuru, Kenya is a precious place where lives are (quite literally) being redeemed from the pit.
It’s also a place where a small group of widows meets each day to knit and fellowship and provide for their families. Cherished Handworks has been knitting away for the past few months, and they’re producing some of the most adorable baby items ever.
I can’t wait to show you the hats I have…you know you’ll want one. Or three.
Then, last Monday, I was here…..
…watching these….
(I’m thinking babies are a theme here. I guess when I’m missing mine, I can’t help noticing everyone else’s! That and the fact that every time I told my daughter I had seen an animal, she asked me if I took a picture of its baby. So I did.)
Today, I’m home. My own babies are snuggled up nearby, and to be honest, Africa is already a world away. I’m trying to sort through all I saw and learned, but it’s wrapped up in a fog of jet lag and exhaustion. So, I take it one piece at a time, like unpacking my suitcase. I unwrap one memory, then another. And try to put them together in some way that makes sense.
Unfortunately, at present, my mind is much like my bedroom….a mess. But filled with beautiful things.
