Our modern communication has its own language and lingo. Mississippi Moms, you know all about it! As a Mississippi Nana, I am learning. When my children started telling me about “Y-FI” connections, I didn’t understand.
I still don’t understand how it works. But I know now how to pronounce and even spell the term, “Y-FI”? The spelling is: “Wi-Fi”! A wireless internet connection. Wireless Fidelity! With or without the hyphen is correct. WiFi. Wow!
Bill and I got new iPhones in the Spring and have been taking lessons to learn about these phones. Indeed they are “smart.” We are impressed with the technology and actually enjoy our new phones. They’ve changed our lives. Our children are so proud of their parents and are giving us advice, hints, and practical help! Communication is our goal!
So, yes, I’m a Nana, a wife, mother, and also a grandmother… That means I have and do experience life concerns, sorrows, problems, heart-aches, and stresses…as do each of you. Even happy experiences can cause stress, busyness, and anxiety in life. But through it all, I also experience deep abiding faith in God!
So what do you do with the admonition in Scripture: “Don’t be anxious about anything! Don’t worry about anything! Have no anxiety about anything!” That’s a troublesome one isn’t it? Please don’t stop reading. There’s more. There’s help. And there’s hope!
Paul wrote to the church in Philippi in his day and by God’s grace to the church in our century, PRAY about everything! Even our anxieties, worries, cares, and concerns! I heard a young woman say: “I don’t want to bother God with all that!” But do! He cares. God says to my heart and to yours through Paul: “But in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understand, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” IN EVERYTHING! AGAIN: “Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers, ask God for what you need, always asking Him with a thankful heart. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe, in Christ Jesus!” (Philippians 4:6-7).
I love those quotes. When raising my children I learned all the words in Philippians 4:4-8, hiding them in my heart. I recommend that you memorize those words in the translation of your choice. Then you can replay them in your mind and spirit whenever you need them. I still need them! As a wife and mom and grandmother…and as a person apart from any of those wonderful titles! I love the song by Andrea Crouch: “Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God. Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon His Word!”

I read the neatest quote yesterday…It’s always interesting to read some of the quotes on t-shirts and hats. Sometimes one of them becomes popular. But this is the first time I’ve seen this one. The truth conveyed is so current! I hope the words encourage you, MississippiMom. They suit my present situation…and encourage this Nana:
“PRAYER: The world’s greatest wireless connection!”
May God bless you today with His grace, peace, hope, and love! Have faith in God! o/`
Yes, once more: “PRAYER: The world’s greatest wireless connection!”
