I love Thanksgiving. The season, the holiday. And the fact of giving God praise all year. In all circumstances .
Memorizing a verse, then seeking to live it gives deep meaning to God’s Word in life.
The writer of Hebrews tells us how: ” Through Jesus let us continually offer to God the sacrifice of PRAISE…” Read it all in Hebrews 13:8, 15.
Every season, every holiday, actually every DAY brings changes in our lives.
This year 2014 on the first Sunday of Advent, I was blessed to teach a group of lovely young women the concluding chapter of Hebrews.
As Christians we all have the HOPE of heaven.
I got out my Advent wreath and candles (I got on sale after Christmas last year).
But our table had a different decoration this year than usual. Notice the placemats in the photo!
Enjoying a trip to the Smokies with our children on Thanksgiving, Kristen, our 12-year old granddaughter made a placemat for each person.
Her Daddy’s had many drawings of doggies. Her Christmas wish!
She also had thoughtful illustrated letters she ‘d made at home. One each for: Parents, sister, and PawPaw and Nana.
Perhaps your year has been difficult. Read: Mississippi Mom’s October 23rd post this year: “Hope Lasts firm and secure, always and forever! (Proverbs 23:17-18; Hebrews 6:19)
So…light your first candle of Advent: HOPE!
Blessed Advent to you and think next week about Peace!
Love, Nana
