Indescribable Devotional Books for Kids by Louie Giglio focus on God and science!

If there is one thing we do in our homeschool, it’s science. My kids have always loved learning about the world around them, and the topics they can study are endless.

When my son was younger, we studied dinosaurs and fossils. Our twins will read anything about animals. Our oldest went through a horse-loving phase. Now, our home library is full of books about all of these topics.

It’s one of the reasons I’ve always loved homeschooling. No matter what the kids are interested in, we can find a way to study it!

It’s also why I’m always on the lookout for helpful resources like the Indescribable series by Louie Giglio, which features devotional books for kids about God and science.

Each book contains 100 short but powerful devotions that relate Biblical truth while imparting scientific knowledge. For instance, in a devotion about how everything God created is perfectly planned, kids learn about camels and how God has prepared them for life in the desert. This truth points to the fact that God has also planned and designed our kids just the way he wants them to be!

Kids can read straight through the books or choose to look up topics that interest them. Each book has a list of pages that are broken down into four categories: space, earth, animals and people.

The books themselves are colorful and bright and draw young readers right in. In fact, one of our twins sat down beside me and confiscated one of them while I was reading. I don’t know that I’ll ever get it back.

I plan to use the books in our homeschool in a couple of ways. First, they offer wonderful daily devotions. Louie Giglio is a gifted communicator of God’s truth, and he manages to share it with kids in a way that isn’t oversimplified, which I really appreciate.

Also, we have done more an interest-based study of science this year than we have in the past when we’ve followed a certain curriculum. I’m planning to use the devotional books as a jumping off point for our studies. To help with that, the Indescribable Kids website has some free resources I’ll be using to take the girls’ study a bit deeper. There are also corresponding lunch box notes you can send with your kids to school.

There are three books in the series: Indescribable, How Great is Our God, and The Wonder of Creation.

Indescribable focuses on the majesty of creation and includes: scientific findings, photography, and original illustrations. Since publication, it has sold more than 100,000 copies!

How Great is Our God helps kids understand “the awe-inspiring connection between the natural world and the God who created it,” while The Wonder of Creation will “ignite your child’s sense of wonder and awe as they see Scripture come alive through God’s creation.”

The books are designed for kids ages 6-10, but I think everyone in your family will enjoy reading them and learning from them. Click here to learn more or purchase copies for your kids!

Disclosure: I received review copies of the books, but the opinions above are all mine.
