I spent much of the weekend with my sisters. All of them. Y’all, that’s unusual. There are five of us, and it’s hard to get everyone together these days. If only the youngest would just move back to Mississippi….
Anyway, we were together to celebrate the life of my grandmother’s sister, my sweet aunt. Then, as a bonus, we were able to celebrate Easter together, too.
We had fun.
Really. Sisters are silly. That’s all I can say.
Two of them cheered. Truly. They started with “Ready? Okay!” and ended with “Hey! Go! Team!”
Others of us sang. We always do. This song in particular:
This time, we sang it to the twins. Because if ever two people were born with a theme song, twin sisters would have to be, right?
Funny thing is that our kids kept trying to get in the photos. See, they thought the Easter Egg Hunt was about them.
At one point this weekend, someone said, “We should be more solemn.” They were probably right, but I have to think that my fun Aunt Nina, who loved her sisters so, would have loved nothing more than seeing us all together, enjoying each other the way she enjoyed her family.
