Works-For-Me-Wednesday: Vinegar

This post contains affiliate links to products mentioned. For more information, read my disclosure policy.

I first discovered the power of vinegar a couple of years ago after complaining to some friends that nothing I did made my kitchen floor feel clean.  It’s old, dark and needs to be replaced so I just never seemed able to get it “squeaky” clean.  One of the ladies I was talking to said, “Have you tried vinegar?” and changed my life.  Since then, I’ve been known to just pour vinegar on a cloth and start wiping things…it really does work.  This week, I reverted to using vinegar again because my little man is into everything, and I figure it’s much safer to have vinegar hiding in a cabinet than most other things because let’s face it:  the only people who can’t open child-proofed cabinets are adults.

So, that’s what’s working for me this week….how about you?  Visit wearethatfamily.com and share!

If you’ve got a little one, then you probably get to deal with pee-pee accidents/overflows. Vinegar in the washing machine, along with your regular detergent, is a really good way to get rid of the smell. Used to frustrate me to no end that regular washing wouldn’t take that smell out. Yea vinegar!

Thanks, Wendy! I had no idea! That will be especially helpful as we inch toward potty training with the little one!

The woman who works for my eye doctor swears by apple cider vinegar….on and in her body. She has the kind of rosacea that causes bad acne and uses it as a toner and it cleared up her acne. I tried it too and it does work, but for me it irritated my face after a while.

She and her brother both drink a little apple cider vinegar each day because they have heat issues in their family. He did nothing but drink the cider vinegar each day for 2 or 3 months and dropped his cholestrol 20 points. I’m not a doctor and not saying these things will work for anyone else, but there are a lot of good things that vinegar does that most of us probably aren’t aware of.

I love vinegar! It’s excellent for cleaning glass. I mix a shot of it with the soapy water for washing dishes, and it helps get the grease off. I even wash my hair with vinegar!
