It’s nap time, and I’m sitting here sipping some coffee straight from Kenya and nibbling a bit of dark chocolate and thinking how perfect they taste together on this Mississippi afternoon.
As I savor the rich flavor that comes only from Kenya, I think of coffee farms and tea fields, and if I close my eyes, I can almost feel the wind on my face and the warmth of the sun beating down.
And those memories remind me of something I want you to know.
The world is wide.
It is full.
- Of color and culture.
- Of sights and sounds.
- Of aromas and flavors.
And, there are some places where the mixture of all these things can overwhelm your senses and nearly knock you off your feet.
And, it’s beautiful.
The world God made and the people who fill it are beautiful.
They differ so much from one country to the next and even just down the road.
You don’t have to travel far to find beauty in the unknown or face the unfamiliar.
All you have to do is explore the world around you.
From the beauty of the nature in our own front yard to the majesty of mountains far away, there is so much to see, to do and to learn.
So…
- Be amazed.
- Be curious.
- And, be ready for adventure.
Because every day is an opportunity to see more of this wonderful world…..
To learn more about the people who live in it…..
And, to find more reasons to worship the God who created it.

“Be curious.” I’m reading Rising Strong by Brene Brown right now and I’m struck by how important curiousity is to healing and wholeheartedness. Thanks for linking with #SmallWonder!
